He's still out over the ocean, and haven't heard him check in yet with Oakland Center, but I guess this is a pre-heads-up :) Should be one of the older ones: 73-3300 ... haven't seen him on this coast since 2008!
Nice to know although the light will be gone by the time it lands :(

Ok, he's SKIER 00 direct HARBOR? on 124.325, so he's for sure skipping Travis ... here's a recent-ish photo of this old beaut: http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Air/Lockheed-LC-130H-Hercules/1607220/M/

Thanx again, JM. As Ryan said, it will be dark when he arrives. But I'm sure he will RON. The WX is supposed to get ugly here and if it is, I won't make the trek back to Reno early tomorrow AM. But if the WX report is wrong AND if I can determine if SKIER did land here and is still here by tomorrow AM, I may scoot in during the early hours to try for a shot. Either way, Thanx for the notification AND for the photo link. Cool pic.
FYI I do plan on trying to get her tomorrow morning especially if there is snow :)

I'm not able to confirm that he landed at RNO tonight ... on another issue, does anyone here know a Yahoo user joeking48? aka spook48? he's got a RadarBox and would be in a better position to confirm a RNO arrival than me.
I just got back from the airport and it looks like there are TWO of those birds @ Atlantic. I am going to head back down in a bit once I have some breakfast and the weather clears up a bit :)

Wow, I'd be interested to know the tail number of the other one!
It may be a different type of Herc' but I couldn't get a good look with the heavy snow and concentrating on driving. Hopefully they will be there this afternoon when I go back.

Hmm, I see a TEAL 83 -- C-130J-30 05-8157 -- headed east?
Ok guys I am going to have to admit defeat today now that the Winter Storm Warning is until 7pm and it is coming down so heavy at times I can't see that far. I will try again tomorrow.
The Skier is still at Atlantic I think from what I could see from the other side field while waiting for the 727. There is also still one other Herc' beside it.

SKIER 94 [LC-130H 92-1094] is now descending into Travis; looks like he didn't exercise the option to come see you guys :)

... and SKIER 93 [LC-130H 93-0493] now also descending into Travis; I think that's it for the SKIER aircraft this season. Better luck in October! :)

The second Herc had no skies. I got some shots, but heavy snow was falling and it was kinda dark. I'll edit and post if anything came out. :coolglasses:
