check this video out of the SC 727 departing Laughlin.....note how much runway this puppy uses...about 95% before the wheels lift. I have another SC 727 landing on a different date before this one....and it is real dicey, as i thought it was to run off the end...but didn't. I'll work to post that one in the near future.

Wow that was interesting.
Reminds me of a time I was ops agent for Frontier in RNO. They subd a 737 with -9 engines instead of our usual -11's.
The pilot asked us to check for sagebrush stuck in the gear when he left. We were always having to take passengers off the acft on hot days with the -9's.

Thanks Men..........I was shocked the 1st time I saw a 727 on final to Laughlin...wondering how in the heck are they going to get it off the ground when it left. I wasn't disappointed.
NevadaDon - yes..that is correct on the older 737...they are not good in hot weather loaded..wish i could have gotten that on video.
SMF Ken.....true,,I have another TWA video at SJC posted same website...that did the same thing you describe. The 1st TWA MD-80 out of SJC in the AM was usually a 'heavy"............they used a heck of a lot of runway - summer or not.
