Obama Arriving Reno

Saw on the news tonight that Obama will be visiting Reno this Saturday. No further details yet. Gordon's called me today; my Canon is repaired and available. :happy: I'm picking it up Thursday, so if Obama arrives anytime after daybreak on Saturday and I can get a guesstimate on an arrival time, I plan to be in position for a pic.:happy_thumb:

I heard that about Obama too, I expect McCain will be coming back again also as Nevada is an important state to win.

Guys, depending on the time I should be able to cover Obama's arrival as well - I will be tied up in the wee hours (0530-0730) helping my wife get set up for a craft fair but should be free after that. Maybe we can make this a mini-spotting session as well...

Like I said, the light was horrible and the heat haze was nasty, so I had to underexpose a ton to make sure I didn't blow out a ton of the plane. This was also a quick edit so it isn't up to my usual standards.

Yea, it was boring for awhile. I watched them getting the plane ready for at least an hour, but at least I got a shot:violin::check:

I've heard that Obama will be speaking at Peccole on Saturday. Gates open for the public to begin entering at 7:30. That means he won't be arriving earlier than that because they will want the place full when he arrives. So I'm guesstimating Obama won't be in the skies over Reno before 8:30 at the EARLIEST. So unless I get more specific info, I plan to be at Rock Park about 8:15. Then I'll just have to sit and be patient ~ heck, he may not arrive 'til noon or later. If anyone has better info, please let me know. And I hope to see you guys out there on Saturday. ~ RNO G

I am betting he arrives sometime tomorrow night or late afternoon as he will be coming from Hawaii. I think he will probably be leaving after 8:30am on Saturday. I will be at Turbo on Saturday and I might not be down at RNO tomorrow as there is a game on I want to see, but I may skip it.

If I do I will also be at Rock :)

I met Gary down on Turbo this morning -- Obama pulled a Palin on us and did not leave until 12:25 or so. Light was bad, as expected, but glad I went. I'll post a shot tomorrow. Hope you guys are feeling better.

He was on the ground by the time I arrived at Rock at 7:45 AM. Around 11 AM, I passed by UNR and saw tons of traffic leaving, so I went over to Turbo. Andre was already there. He and I hung around until noon. We didn't see anything happening by Obama's a/c so I left with my wife to take her to lunch. :aaargh: Andre was going to stick around a bit longer.
