Summer Spotting

Howdy, all. I've posted notices the past few times I've planned a spotting day at RNO and no one has indicated they have read the notice. So instead of wasting space every time I go out, I'll simply pass along this info: I'll be around RNO quite often over the next 9 weeks. If any of you are passing by RTIA and you see the Vue or the ladder, stop by for a moment and say Howdy. And if you have a few free minutes to spare, I'll tip you off to a few new excellent spotting locations.

Sorry Gary, but I have been busy for a change but I will be trying to get out to the airport more so hopefully I will see you around! :D

Gary, thanks for the note and I assure you I read your posts most of the time, but I guess our schedules conflict. I usually run by the airport whenever I work on a Saturday (which is 3 out of 4 weekends a month, now, unfortunately) and those visits are usually brief, but I always hit the usual spots in search of my fellow spotters. I'll keep an eye out for you. I am planning on hitting a few more air shows this year and I will be joining Chris in Yuba City on Saturday. I'll be hitting SMF a couple of times this summer and am planning a trip to PDX later in the summer. I'll be sure to post to see if there is an interest in carpooling to any local events - Grass Valley, Redding, and Travis AFB all come to mind. I'm sure we'll run into one another one of these days.

That's great news Andre! It appears that there will be some vintage WWII aircraft, that will be flying as well as static displays. I'm thinking that that may be the Collins Groups's B-24 and P-51, but not for certain. I'll e-mail you the flyer info that I have if you like.

That's great news Andre! It appears that there will be some vintage WWII aircraft, that will be flying as well as static displays. I'm thinking that that may be the Collins Groups's B-24 and P-51, but not for certain. I'll e-mail you the flyer info that I have if you like.

Chris: Sounds terrific - looking forward to it. I'd like to see the flyer, if you don't mind, especially since I don't know how much admission will be. I'll plan on getting an early start - will let you know off-group.

Andre, I'll be around RNO a bunch, so I'll keep an eye and an ear open for you. If you see me, definitely stop off for at least a couple minutes; you won't believe the two super new locations my wife found; you'll certainly want to try them. Also, SMF Ken and I are formulating plans for a six-day summer road trip to PDX, BFI, SEA, and Vancouver (I forget the code for Vancouver); I'll get us on to Travis and McChord, and of course I'll hit SMF also. I'm super pumped about this trip (just wishing I had a better camera).
