would like to inform our charter group that Virgin America will be operating several international golf charter flights to/from RNO during the month of January 2012 on behalf of ILT Charters. US Airways will provide the ground handling services (above and below wing). I will email the details once we receive the official documentation.

Hmmm. So the flights will ferry in (empty?) the night before and RON, then depart the next day and a week later, they return w/ pax and then ferry back out (empty?). And being charter flights w/multi stops to pick up and drop off, they may be bigger birds w/ more pax capacity.
Well, full or empty, I'll MOST CERTAINLY be there to catch one of them that first week after New Years. Mike, can't thank you enough for this info. If I actually break down and buy a new camera, one of these Virgins could be my very "first" with it. << Get it? Ah, yeah, OK, it's lame but I couldn't resist!

Ryan, since it's only a Ferry In to RON here, VRD could run it in any time this evening. It could even just show up very early tomorrow AM (instead of sitting here overnight), load up, and fly back out. Not only is it a charter flight, but it's also VX operating it ... so pretty much anything could develop. lol

(Grin) I totally understand, Ryan. However, in this case, there ARE a group of golfers expecting to get a ride to the links, so I'm figuring the bird WILL show up. You're right; that IS part of the fun (and frustration) of being a spotter. (Thumbs Up)

I live down in Pleasant Valley and wasn't able to make it up to KRNO this morning for VRD 7004 but luckily I live on the Departure path for 16L/16R! I took some cool videos and pictures of it flying off to Mexico! I'll post soon!
